In France in 2026, a showcase website for a small business generally costs from €1,500 with a freelancer (source: Les Créavores) to €3,000–3,500 with an agency (sources: Les Créavores and La Fabrique du Net). An online shop is clearly more expensive: the agencies' median is around €10,000 (La Fabrique du Net). With us, a landing page starts at €690, a site of up to 7 pages at €1,490 and a shop at €1,990.
These figures are benchmarks, not a quote. Below we explain where the gaps come from, which costs add up every month and how to compare two proposals. The sources are listed at the end.
What the market says in 2026
La Fabrique du Net analysed 2,878 agency budgets. The median, all projects together, is €5,600. By type of project:
- showcase site: a median of €3,500, with half of the projects between €2,000 and €8,000;
- e-commerce: €10,000;
- custom site or app: €18,000.
This data comes from the La Fabrique du Net barometer (October 2026 data, July 2026 segments).
Les Créavores collected 103 prices in June 2026. For a showcase site, their typical price is €1,500 with a freelancer and €3,000 with an agency (Les Créavores).
Note the gap inside a single segment: for a showcase site, between €2,000 and €8,000, the ratio is already 1 to 4. Remember also that a median is the middle of the market, not the price of your project. A site of a few pages in one language and a site with online booking and payment are not in the same category.
Why prices vary up to 10 times
Two quotes that are far apart are often not about the same thing. Six factors come into play:
- The number of pages. Every page has to be designed, written, built and tested.
- The design. A design made from scratch costs more than adapting an existing style.
- The number of languages. Every language adds content to translate and check.
- The features. Online booking, payment, a user account: each one is a small piece of development on its own.
- The texts and the photos. Who prepares them, you or the provider? It changes the bill and the schedule.
- SEO and moving the old site. SEO at launch, migrating the data from the old platform.
When two quotes differ a lot, compare these six lines first: the gap is often explained there. Ask each provider what is included for every one of them, and put the answers side by side before you look at the total.
The monthly costs people forget
The build price is not the only one. Three items come back every year or every month:
- Domain name. A .fr costs about €8 a year: €7.79 excl. VAT on renewal at OVHcloud, against €4.99 excl. VAT for the first year (La Fabrique du Net, October 2026 prices).
- Hosting. For a classic site, the renewal prices recorded range from €2.59 excl. VAT a month (OVHcloud Starter) to €9.99 excl. VAT a month (Hostinger Premium, after a 48-month commitment). Look at the renewal price, not the introductory offer (La Fabrique du Net, October 2026 prices).
- Support. For a showcase site, the typical rate is €72 a month (Les Créavores).
With us, hosting a Next.js site costs from €0 to about €20 a month. Support starts at €49 a month and is optional.
Before comparing two offers, add up the domain, the hosting and the support over a year. The annual total tells you more than the build price alone.
The real cost over 3 years
Les Créavores compared the total cost of a showcase site over three years, depending on the solution chosen:
| Solution | Total cost over 3 years | To add |
|---|---|---|
| Website builder | ≈ €576 in subscriptions | 15 to 30 days of your own work |
| Freelancer | ≈ €4,100 | — |
| Agency | ≈ €5,600 | — |
Source: Les Créavores.
The builder looks cheap, but it asks for 15 to 30 days of your work. That time has a price too, especially when you run a small business.
Website builder or code?
A website builder (Wix, Squarespace) is fine for testing an idea, when you need a single page and have no budget.
A hand-coded site makes sense when loading speed, your place on Google, features without a platform's limits and no compulsory subscription matter to you.
We write code: we don't assemble sites with builders or heavy themes. The site is written for your need.
Five warning signs before you sign
Before you accept a quote, check these five points:
- No written quote detailing the work: without it, you can't know what you are buying.
- The site isn't handed over to you as your property. You pay, but you are not at home.
- A monthly “rental” of the site, with no way to buy it out: you pay forever and never own anything.
- The domain name is registered in the provider's name. If the relationship ends, your company's address belongs to them.
- No access to the code or the admin. You can neither change provider nor edit your site yourself.
With us, the proposal is written (the exact price, timeline and scope), and the code and the access are handed over to you after payment.
VAT: compare prices including VAT
Under the French VAT exemption (franchise en base de TVA), a micro-entrepreneur often shows prices without VAT, and that price is the final amount you pay. That is our case: “VAT not applicable, art. 293 B of the CGI”. To compare properly with an agency, look at its price including VAT (TTC).
Our prices and what they include
- Landing page, from €690. One page of up to 6 sections, responsive, a form, basic SEO, 1 language. Timeline: 1 to 2 weeks.

- Shop or custom Shopify, from €1,990.
A few options: custom design +€390, an extra language +€190, an admin to edit the content yourself +€390, online payment +€290.

In short
A showcase site generally costs from €1,500 to €3,500 depending on the provider, a shop about €10,000 with an agency. Look at the cost over three years rather than the build price, check that the site belongs to you, and compare quotes line by line. If you want a ballpark figure for your case, the calculator gives one in a minute.

Frequently asked questions
- Why does one site cost €700 and another €8,000?
- Because the scope isn't the same: the number of pages, a design made from scratch or an adapted one, the number of languages, features (online booking, payment, a user account), who prepares the texts and photos, SEO and moving the old site. Compare these six lines from one quote to the next.
- Do I have to pay every month?
- For the domain name and hosting, yes: about €8 a year for a .fr domain and, with us, from €0 to about €20 a month for hosting. Support is optional, from €49 a month.
- How long does it take?
- With us, 1 to 2 weeks for a landing page and 2 to 4 weeks for a website.
- Will the site belong to me?
- With us, yes: the code and the access are handed over to you after payment. With another provider, check this before you sign: it is one of the five warning signs in this article.
- Is a Wix site enough?
- To test an idea, with a single page and no budget, yes. As soon as loading speed, your place on Google, features without a platform's limits and no compulsory subscription matter, a hand-coded site is a better fit.
